Collaborative Divorce Solutions of Orange County immediate past president, Diana L. Martinez, Esq. will join Dr. Linda Bortel, Abbas Hadjian, Esq., and Dr. Gitu Bhatia to present the seminar “Cultural Competency in Family Law Practice: Beyond Basics” at the 89th State Bar of California Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 2, in San Diego, California.

A greater understanding of cross-cultural experiences, biases, and perspectives is necessary to be an effective family law practitioner.  Through the use of popular movies as well as lecture and discussion, the panelists will discuss issues of cross cultural marriage, the impact of immigration on marriages, establishing parenting plans taking culture into account, and other culturally nuanced topics.

The seminar provides 1.5 hours of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit under Elimination of Bias; Legal Specialization: Family Law.
